Manufacturing Process
Our Sensory Furniture Range
All our sensory furniture is proudly designed and manufactured in house at our UK production facility, allowing us to maintain complete control over quality, craftsmanship, and material selection of materials from start to finish.
Each piece begins with the careful selection of heavy duty, sustainably sourced timber. Frames and structural components are precision cut, planed, and assembled by our skilled joiners using traditional woodworking techniques combined with modern CNC machines for accuracy. All edges are generously rounded and sanded multiple times to create an exceptionally smooth, safe, and tactile finish that is fundamental to sensory play environments.
The seating and padded elements are built around high density foam that fully conforms to BS 5852:2006 (Crib 5) and BS EN 1021-1/2 furniture and furnishings fire safety regulations. (Documents Available On Request)
This resilient foam is then upholstered in our specialist healthcare grade reinforced vinyl, which meets or exceeds the requirements of BS 7176 Medium Hazard and is certified to UK toy safety standard BS EN 71-3 (migration of certain elements). The vinyl is wipe clean, anti-fungal, and phthalate free and available in a wide range of calming and stimulating colours.
Assembly is completed using concealed fixings and heavy duty mechanical joints to ensure exceptional durability even under intensive daily use in schools, hospitals, sensory rooms, and specialist care settings. Every item undergoes rigorous multi-point quality inspection and safety testing in accordance with UK playground and indoor play equipment standards, including BS EN 1176 and BS EN 71 series where applicable.
Because every stage, from raw timber to finished product takes place under one roof, we can guarantee consistent quality, rapid lead times, and the ability to offer fully bespoke designs tailored to individual therapeutic requirements.
